Maria has taken care of our kids at the beach for four consecutive summers – we and the kids love her. For a few years it was just our two boys, and then we had twins, so she has taken care of infants, toddlers, and older boys for us. Maria is warm and fun with the kids and super reliable. She brings age-appropriate toys for the kids to play with, and our kids have always had a great time with her. She is also great about preparing and cleaning up from meals so that grown-ups can get as much beach relaxation time as is feasible with little children. We cannot recommend her highly enough! She’s amazing, and we hope she’ll babysit for us this summer back at the Outer Banks.
Our family has been visiting OBX every summer for nearly a decade, and we've used OBX Island Childcare many times over the years. They are AMAZING! Maria and her team are trustworthy, dependable, and wonderful with our two girls (now 8 and 5 years old). Vacationing with young kids doesn't always feel like a vacation for mom and dad, but OBX Island Childcare has allowed us to have many relaxing dinners out while the kids had fun playing games, doing artwork and watching movies with the babysitter. Ms. Maria herself has been our sitter on several occasions, and everytime our OBX vacations come up in conversation our kids talk about the fun times they've had with her. We can not recommend OBX Island Childcare highly enough ... they've helped make our annual trips to Duck a relaxing and enjoyable experience for the entire family!

Ashley and her team at OBX Island Childcare were wonderful. Ashley worked hard to accommodate us and even found someone last minute during the week of July 4th. We loved our sitter Kris! She brought games and crafts for the kids to do. We had 5 children in between 2 families and she handled the job like a pro. We came home and everyone was happy and sound asleep. Our children were in the best hands with her. We will use OBX Island childcare moving forward for all of our vacation childcare needs!

OBX Island Childcare is a fantastic company that really helped our family out last summer in finding not one, but two wonderful sitters. The second one rather last minute too! The sitters were creative, fun, and trustworthy! Completely won over the children and even brought activities for them. We enjoyed having so much that we're having them again this year! Emily was prompt and took great care of the kids! We had her for two nights, and after the first night, the kids kept asking when she was coming back for the second night. She even brought bracelet making kits and bubbles for them! The youngest (5) and second youngest (7) really loved her and were sad when she had to leave. We were so lucky to get to enjoy two kid-free dinners on our trip! We absolutely plan on booking again next year.
